Getting started

Five steps, about two minutes. Steps 1 to 3 are done once for the whole team.

1. Add Queuebird to Slack

Press Add to Slack, pick your workspace, approve the permissions. If your workspace restricts app installs, Slack turns this into a request to your admins.

Your trial starts the moment it’s installed, with every feature on. While founding mode is on, it doesn’t expire.

Queuebird is in its pilot phase until the Slack Marketplace listing is live, so installs are arranged directly. Join the waitlist for one email when they open, or write to support@queuebird.dev to get in early.

2. Turn a channel into a queue

Run /qb setup queue in the channel where your team already talks about PRs.

That’s it for public channels — the bot joins by itself. In a private channel, run /invite @Queuebird first, because Slack does not let apps join those on their own.

Any member can do this. You don’t need to be an admin.

3. Connect your GitHub organisation

Run /qb github and follow the link to install the Queuebird GitHub App on your org.

Don’t skip this one. It’s what lets Queuebird read reviews, approvals and CI. Without it your PRs are tracked but stay bare: no badges, no clocks, no escalation.

One person does it once for the whole team. It needs a Slack admin on this side, and an org owner on GitHub’s side. If you’re not an org owner, GitHub turns it into a request to whoever is.

Each person runs /qb link, then confirms a short code on GitHub.

This is how Queuebird knows which PRs are yours and where to reach you. Until someone links, the shared queue stays hidden from them, though PRs they paste still reach the team’s queue.

Drop a github.com/OWNER/REPO/pull/N link into the queue channel.

Queuebird reacts 📥, and the PR shows up for everyone who has linked. Badges fill in within a couple of minutes.

Where the queue lives

Click Queuebird in your Slack sidebar and open the Home tab. That’s the board. There’s no channel message to maintain.

You can skip steps 2 and 3 entirely. DM a PR link to Queuebird and it tracks it privately, with no channel and no setup. See Your own queue.
